Fake Law-GAT results; 20 licenses revoked in KP

KP bar council - HEC Law-GAT

PESHAWAR: In a significant development, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Bar Council has taken stringent action by revoking the licenses of 20 lawyers in Peshawar following the submission of fake Law Graduate Assessment Test (GAT) results. The decision was made during an executive committee meeting where the case of the fraudulent results was thoroughly examined.

The KP Bar Council revealed that an investigation into the matter was conducted, leading to the conclusive finding that the 20 lawyers had submitted false Law GAT results for the acquisition of their licenses. In response, the council has promptly canceled their licenses until further notice.

MDCAT in KP: stringent measures in place to ensure fairness

The cancellation of licenses is not the only repercussion for the implicated lawyers. The KP Bar Council has forwarded recommendations for criminal action against the individuals involved to the General Body of the Bar. This signals a strong commitment to uphold the integrity of the legal profession and maintain trust in the certification process.

The authenticity of the Law GAT results came under scrutiny after verification by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Islamabad, revealing the submitted results to be fraudulent. This discovery underscores the importance of stringent verification processes to ensure the credibility and trustworthiness of professional qualifications.

As the legal community in Peshawar grapples with the aftermath of this case, the cancellation of licenses serves as a stern reminder of the consequences that individuals may face when attempting to manipulate professional qualifications for personal gain.
