Fashion in 2024: the year of co-ords, velvets and peach hues

Co-ords dominated Pakistan’s fashion trends in the year 2024 irrespective of whether it was for formal or casual attire.
The matching ensembles offered a blend of style and comfort, making them a popular choice not only among fashion enthusiasts but also among university students, working women, and homemakers.
Throughout the year, the designers and brands introduced co-ord sets in various fabrics and solid colours, including lawn, silk, satin, and velvet, catering to different seasons and preferences.
Bold prints, floral patterns, and geometric designs have been particularly trendy, allowing individuals to express their style effortlessly.
According to Cashmala Mehmud of Resilient Clothing,” These matching sets became a staple for women across the country, whether in bazaars, offices, universities, or casual outings.
Co-ords were available in solid colors and intricate motifs, catering to various preferences and occasions”, she emphasised.
TRADITIONAL EMBROIDERY
Embroidered clothes never become out of fashion. Similarly, this year also hand embroidery, intricate threadwork and zari work on dupattas, shirts were at the forefront.
PEACH HUES FOR EVERY SEASON
The colours that dominated the Pakistan’s fashion in 2024 were peach, blush pink, mint green and powder blue.
From weddings to casual gatherings, these shades were popular choices of women. These soft hues provided a refreshing alternative to the usual bold colors seen in Pakistani fashion
FUSION WEAR
Fusion wear a blend of tradition and modernity culture remained mostly popular with the youth in 2024.
Combining jeans with a kurti made a trendy, effortless look for university wear as well as office wear;

VELVET MAKES A COMEBACK
Despite being an essential winter fabric, velvet rarely becomes out of fashion in Pakistan. In the year 2024, velvet returned as a favourite fabric; whether it was in the shape of long coats, shawls, shirts, lehengas, or even as the lining to dupatta, velvet added a touch of royalty to Pakistani wardrobes.
LONG SHIRTS
In the year 2024, short shirts quickly became obsolete, and medium or long-length shirts became the latest trend. Women were seen adorned with flared outfits, gowns, and maxis not just for formal wear but also for daily wear.
