Filming of Shoaib Akhtar’s biopic completed amid controversies

Web Desk: The much-anticipated biographical film about Pakistani cricket legend Shoaib Akhtar, titled “Rawalpindi Express,” has concluded its filming, as reported by a United Arab Emirates-based production house.

“Completing the production of this movie was not an easy feat. The margin of error is zero when making a movie about a legend like Shoaib Akhtar. We had the good fortune to assemble a hardworking crew in Pakistan that worked nonstop to finish it. We had to make sure that we got it right because Shoaib Akhtar has a huge following globally,” the producer of the Rawalpindi Express said.

“We wouldn’t have been able to finish the production if we didn’t have legal rights,” he added.

The creators emphasize that they possess all the necessary legal rights to produce and distribute the movie.

The production of the film was marred by a series of controversies, stemming from Shoaib Akhtar’s public announcement that he had withdrawn from the pre-production phase. Akhtar pointed to the failure to reach amicable resolutions and consistent breaches of the contract as the primary reasons for severing ties with the project. In a comprehensive Instagram post, the esteemed ex-cricket player affirmed that he had adhered to all necessary legal procedures and had rescinded the rights to his life’s narrative.
