First glimpse into 80s cult classic Beetlejuice sequel starring Jenna Ortega


WEB DESK: In an era of reboots and sequels, Warner Bros did not disappoint. The fans of the 80s cult classic movie Beetlejuice on Wednesday were treated to a glimpse into the much-awaited sequel, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”.

Instead of a trailer, the Entertainment Weekly unveiled “first-look images” revealing familiar faces alongside new characters.

Michael Keaton marks his return as the titular Beetlejuice sporting his iconic tattered suit. In a nostalgic nod to the original film, the actor is decked out in his signature suit while giving a mischievous to the camera.

Returning to the fray alongside Michael Keaton  are Winona Ryder as Lydia, and Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz.

Joining the new ensemble are Jenna Ortega as Lydia’s rebellious daughter, Astrid, and Justin Theroux as Rory, a mysterious addition to the Deetz family. A-list actors Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe also join the new cast.

Director Tim Burton’s unmistakable blend of whimsy and darkness can be seen in the sequel. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice promises a seamless transition from the original film while offering a fresh perspective on the beloved cult classic.

Although plot details are shrouded in mystery, teasers hint at themes of family, loss, and the afterlife in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”

The eagerly awaited sequel is slated for a theatrical release on September 6 of this year.
