Gaza media blackout: Osman Khalid Butt, Ushna Shah and Naimal Khawar call for ceasefire

WEB DESK: Osman Khalid Butt, Ushna Shah, and Naimal Khawar, have taken to social media to call for an immediate ceasefire in the region, joining a growing chorus of voices advocating for peace.

Recently Israel escalated its bombardment of Gaza on Friday night, reportedly severing all communications in the West Bank, as reported by Al Jazeera.

International media outlets and humanitarian organisations have expressed deep concern, having lost contact with their staff in Gaza due to an almost complete communication blackout.

Save the Children, a humanitarian group, revealed that over one million Palestinian children and their parents are enduring unimaginable hardship in the besieged enclave. Their plight has been described as “pure horror.”

Ushna Shah took to her X to address the plight of Palestinians and stated: “We must go beyond sharing the facts we all know. We need to challenge their algorithms and timelines. This is essential in combating the misinformation that has led to the complicity of some. Islamophobia is currently at an all-time high. While it won’t be easy, we have the numbers, and we must find a way to educate the other side, whose indoctrination runs deep.”
