Glastonbury 2024: Shania Twain, Dua Lipa to top the line-up

SHEPTON MALLET: The Glastonbury Festival 2024 is promising a diverse and vibrant line-up across its stages, with a paricular headliner in focus: Shania Twain.

The festival opened its stages to some of entertainment industry’s best acts from Wednesday till Sunday.

Hundreds of other artists are slated to perform throughout the weekend. Organisers of the Glastonbury Festival unveiled this year’s line-up, with Dua Lipa, Coldplay, SZA, and Shania Twain set to perform in the Legends Slot.

The set times reveal a bit of of eclectic pairings and sequences across stages. For instance, rapper Little Simz will precede Coldplay on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday, while LCD Soundsystem will take the stage before Dua Lipa’s Friday performance.

The festival organisers seem to be in a mood, aiming to create what seems to be a diverse lineup that encourages fans to move between stages to catch their favourite acts.

The festival also have several surprise acts, denoted by “TBA”. Past surprise performances at Glastonbury have featured renowned artists like The Killers, Radiohead, and the Foo Fighters.

The Glastonbury Festival was founded by Michael Eavis in 1970 near Pilton, Somerset, United Kingdom. The music festival has since then evolved into a cultural landmark celebrated for its diverse mix of music, dance, comedy, and more.

Initially sporadic, it became an annual event in the 1980s, with occasional decline in attendance. It draws over 200,000 music loves annually, with the festival featuring famous music acts as headliners and thousands of performers across multiple stages.
