Di Prima has been part of Strictly Come Dancing since 2018. The decision came after an internal investigation into the claims.

In a statement posted on image-sharing social media platform Instagram, Graziano Di Prima expressed “regret” over the events that led to his departure.

The dancer conceded that his “intense dedication” to winning “may” have impacted his training routine and respected the BBC’s human resources process by stepping away from the show.

Di Prima mentioned there were additional factors influencing the situation that he could not discuss at present.

The BBC did not comment on specific cases. The broadcaster mentioned it was committed to following comprehensive procedures to ensure the well-being and safety of people involved in its programmes; it will act quickly if any problems or concerns were brought to its attention.

Di Prima’s departure contributes to a series of recent controversies involving other professional dancers on the show. Another contestant Giovanni Pernice has also been accused of misconduct.

During his tenure on Strictly Come Dancing, Di Prima partnered with celebrities such as Hope, Kym Marsh, and Zara McDermott.
