MUMBAI: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, choreographer and influencer Dhanashree Verma, appeared before the Bandra Family Court on Thursday (Feb 20) for the final proceedings of their mutual divorce.

The couple is now set to receive their official divorce certificate.

Following reports of their separation, both Chahal and Dhanashree shared cryptic messages on social media.

Dhanashree reshared a post on Instagram Stories about moving from “stressed to blessed,” emphasizing faith and surrendering worries to God.

Chahal, meanwhile, posted a message expressing gratitude, saying, “God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about.” He ended his post with a folded hands emoji.

According to Indian media, both Chahal and Dhanashree were present at the family court for their final hearing, which included a 45-minute counseling session as directed by the judge.

The couple informed the court that they had been living apart for 18 months and were mutually seeking divorce due to compatibility issues.

The final divorce ruling was delivered at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. However, neither Chahal nor Dhanashree have publicly confirmed or denied the news.

Chahal and Dhanashree tied the knot in December 2020 in an intimate Gurugram ceremony, attended by close friends and family. Their love story began when Chahal enrolled in Dhanashree’s YouTube dance classes, leading to a close bond that eventually turned into an engagement.

In 2022, rumors of their separation surfaced after they unfollowed each other on Instagram. Now, with the finalization of their divorce, their nearly four-year marriage has come to an end.
