It had no eyes: Reddit user’s kitchen ghost encounter spooks everyone

WEB DESK: In a peculiar account shared on the Paranormal subreddit under the title ‘Calmest Encounter’ a Reddit user recounted their eerie experience with a ‘shadowy’ figure they stumbled upon in their kitchen.

The user described the incident, which occurred shortly after their return home one evening. They live alone in a new apartment and had previously experienced no paranormal activity, except for “noisy neighbours”

As they unlocked their apartment door and entered, they were met with the sight of a shadowy silhouette standing in their kitchen. The user claimed to have made an odd connection with the figure, despite its lack of eyes, and both parties appeared equally surprised by the encounter.

Despite the unnerving nature of the situation, the Reddit user remained surprisingly composed. They reportedly told the spectral figure, “I don’t wanna deal with this right now,” to which the figure seemingly complied by walking into the pantry.

Meanwhile, the curiosity led the user to check the pantry, which turned out to be empty. The story concluded with the user humorously hoping that the next time they encountered the figure, it would contribute to the rent and jokingly offering it the couch as a place to sleep as long as it chipped in for the Wi-Fi bill.

In the comment section, the user provided additional details, saying, “It was practically solid, like an actual person just standing there waiting for me. I don’t think it was waiting for me, it almost seemed like I was interrupting whatever it was doing. Well, it wasn’t that far. We weren’t face to face but close enough to where I could walk to it in a few steps”.

Amid the horrifying account, other users also shared their experiences. MissLoxxx said, “I saw an orb one night, and a few nights later heard what sounded like LOUD long fingernails tapping on my dresser beside my bed as i was trying to sleep. Straight up, I just told whatever it was to quit…. and it did. It simply left”.

Similarly, happychef wrote, “I’ve seen a similar thing, like a full sized person walked around a corner in my house and stopped with the arms out like a person would when they are surprised to see you. It looked like it had like a poofy hairdo also. We looked at each other for a second then it disappeared right before my eyes. Sometimes i wonder what i looked like from their perspective”.
