After the jaw-dropping season finale left us all in suspense, showrunner Jenny Han and star Lola Tung (aka Belly) appeared on the Today show, finally revealing what’s next for the beloved characters.

For months, fans have been burning with questions. Why didn’t the Summer series finale feature the epic wedding from the third book? Well, Jenny Han finally set the record straight! “I can say there’s another huge milestone for Belly,” she teased. “We’re continuing her journey… just not in the way everyone was expecting.”
So what’s going down in the upcoming movie? Han remained tight-lipped, but she did share a juicy tidbit. “It’s a little too soon to spill all the beans, but Sarah Kucserka and I have finished a draft, and we’re moving forward!” That’s right… the creators are hard at work bringing this summer love saga to the big screen!
BUT FANS WILL HAVE TO WAIT
Sorry, Summer lovers, no movie for you next year. Jenny Han confirmed that they don’t know the exact release date yet, but one thing’s for sure. It won’t be next year. looks like fans will have to be patient before Belly and Conrad make their movie debut.
Lola Tung, who plays the fan-favorite Belly, was asked about the film and let’s just say, she didn’t give away much either. All she said was that it is fun that it is finally out there.

The Summer finale on Wednesday wrapped up the series with a bang, sending Belly and Conrad to Paris, then back to the iconic Cousins Beach house years later. Talk about a full-circle moment!
The final season, which saw Belly and Conrad’s emotional journey reach its peak, left fans in tears and speculation. Alongside the lead duo, the series also stars Gavin Casalegno, Jackie Chung, Sean Kaufman, Rain Spencer, David Iacono, and Alfredo Narciso.
