Jungkook’s album soars on Billboard charts for 16 successive weeks


WEB DESK: Korean boyband BTS member Jungkook’s album “Golden” climbed 62 positions to rest at 75th spot on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, maintaining its presence for an impressive 16 successive weeks.

“Golden” secured its position as the longest-charting solo album within the K-pop genre on the Billboard 200.

Meanwhile, the album’s the title track “Standing Next to You” maintained its position at 81 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Meanwhile, Jungkook’s solo track “Seven” achieved the tenth spot on International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) 2023 chart for top global singles. He is the sole Korean artist in the top ten. The IFPI rankings consider streaming, downloads, and physical music sales.

“Seven” is a track from Jungkook’s “Golden” album. It sold over two million copies on its release day.

Debuting with BTS at the age of 16 in 2013, Jungkook has risen to global prominence in the music industry. He is the first South Korean artist to release an official song for the FIFA World Cup titled “Dreamers.”

Similarly, his debut single “Seven” broke records by debuting at number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming the fastest song to surpass one billion streams on Spotify.
