WEB DESK: In an online retort, Bollywood’s actress turned politician Kangana Ranaut has slammed rumours suggesting she indulges in beef, branding them as “shameful” and “baseless”. The actor-turned-politician took to XD, formerly Twitter, to set the record straight, vehemently denying any claims about her dietary preferences.

She wrote, “I don’t consume beef or any other kind of red meat. It is shameful that completely baseless rumours are being spread about me.”
She reiterated her staunch adherence to a yogic and Ayurvedic lifestyle and said, “My people know me, and they know that I am a proud Hindu. Such tactics won’t work to tarnish my image.”
Ranaut, a fervent supporter of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, issued her defense following remarks made by a member of the opposition Congress party. The Congress party member referred to one of Ranaut’s old tweets from 2019, which sought to portray her as a beef eater.
Ranaut wasted no time debunking the tweet, which purported her transition to vegetarianism and purportedly implied her acceptance of meat consumption. She clarified that her personal beliefs are firmly rooted in Hinduism.

Ranaut, who recently threw her hat into the political ring as the BJP candidate from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh, seized the opportunity to address the allegation during her campaign trail. Her fellow BJP members also came to her defence attacking back at Congress as well.
