The title ‘His Highness’ has historical roots, dating back to the earliest Aga Khans, who was recognised for his role as the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community.

The late Prince Karim maintained a close personal relationship with both, Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III, as well as the British government.

The relationship was highlighted through various events, including celebrations for his Golden and Diamond Jubilees, and the awarding of a Knighthood.

The late Aga Khan was also the Founding Patron of the King’s Trust.
