Marvel Studios wraps up filming on The Fantastic Four: First Steps

LONDON: Marvel Studios officially wrapped up filming on “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” with the production now transitioning into post-production.

Filming kicked off in late July 2024 at Pinewood Studios in London, culminating with final scenes shot in Oviedo, Spain.

To celebrate the completion of the project, a wrap up party was held in London, where star, Pedro Pascal shared a cute photo on social media, sparking speculation about the mysterious guest in attendance.

Directed by Matt Shakman, the film boasts a screenplay that began with Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, later refined by Scott Neustadter and Michael H Weber.

The cast features Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm,  and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.

The latest revival attempt of the Fantastic Four franchise is set in a retro-futuristic world inspired by the 1960s.

The storyline pits Marvel’s famed superheroes against the formidable Galactus, portrayed by Ralph Ineson, and his Herald, the Silver Surfer, portrayed by Julia Garner.

 The plot will explore the Fantastic Four’s struggle to juggle their superhero duties with their family dynamics while defending the blue planet from Galactus’ impending doom.

The movie is produced by (unsurprisingly) Kevin Feige, Grant Curtin and Nick Pepin.

Adding to the intrigue, rumours are swirling about a potential cameo from Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom, speculated to appear in a post-credits scene that could set the stage for his return in “Avengers: Doomsday”.

However, the identity of a mystery guest at the wrap up party has raised eyebrows, with the cast and everyone involved with the project tight-lipped.

This is sure to generate lots of buzz for the movie and a great marketing for sure.

The biggest mystery surrounding the secretive guest is how they were spotted enjoying an alcoholic drink – an unusual choice given Downey’s struggle with alcoholism and subsequent high-profile sobriety.

While the official trailer has set to drop, The Fantastic Four: First Steps has a tentative release date of July 25, 2025.
