Now, the show is back after a long hiatus and has finally found the right space to be televised on Hum TV alongside none other than Hum Network’s Masala TV, one of the most successful food channels, in the country.

The auditions for this season kicked off two months ago, and the contestants have been hand picked by the culinary experts.

However, the judges who have made the cut to appear and grill the 24 aspiring to become chefs, are Test Kitchen famous Chef Asad Monga, full of energy Chef Saadat and lastly Sugaries founder, Mahwish Aziz. The trio appears to be very energetic and appears to be quite receptive of fusion food and trying new recipes by culinary enthusiasts.

Beginning originally in the UK on BBC the first episode of MasterChef – The British Grand Prix for Amateur Chefs aired on July 2, 1990, with contestants given £30 and two and a half hours to prepare a three-course meal. Judged by host Loyd Grossman alongside Richard Shepherd and Michael Caine, Brian Glover emerged victorious, though Joan Bunting later won the inaugural series. The original show ran for 11 years before ending, but returned in 2005 as MasterChef Goes Large, presented by John Torode and Gregg Wallace. With dramatic voiceovers and a reality-TV style, the reboot struck a chord, crowning Thomasina Miers as its first champion.
