Meghan Trainor regains her ‘smile’ after excessive Botox

LOS ANGELES: American singer and songwriter Meghan Trainor has finally regained movement to her lips after excessive use of Botox left her unable to smile.

In a recent interview, the 30-year-old artist shared that she wasn’t warned about the potential side effects of Botox beforehand.

Meghan explained that she tried a “lip flip” for the first time after being assured it was widely liked and would enhance her lips. However, she regretted the decision as it prevented her from smiling.

On the Dec. 12 episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna, Meghan Trainor, 30, revealed that she is gradually regaining facial movement after a recent cosmetic procedure went wrong.

When co-host Jenna Bush Hager noted that Trainor can now smile, despite her earlier claims of being unable to, the singer explained, “The movement is coming back.”

“I had a procedure called a lip flip,” the Grammy winner shared. “It was my first time, and everyone told me, ‘You’re going to love it for your little lips.’ But I didn’t love it because I couldn’t smile. I was like [mimics frozen expression].”

Meghan described the experience as painful, adding that she had to get Botox in her jaw to address the issue. Earlier, in a podcast, she admitted to undergoing Botox and revealed plans for more plastic surgeries in the future.

The singer said that even attempting to smile now causes discomfort, and she’s looking for ways to overcome this challenge.

Botox, a neurotoxin, is commonly used to reduce wrinkles, limit muscle movement, and treat various medical conditions. Its cosmetic use has become increasingly popular.
