ISLAMABAD: Despite several days having passed since alleged explicit videos of popular TikToker Minahil Malik surfaced online, multiple clips purportedly featuring her are still being shared across various social media platforms.
This ongoing circulation has raised questions about the effectiveness of the platforms’ so-called strict community guidelines.
Surprisingly, the content—reportedly explicit in nature—remains accessible and has not been taken down, nor have there been visible efforts by the platforms to restrict it. Users are openly claiming possession of Minahil Malik’s latest leaked video and are engaging with others in the comments section, offering to share it upon request.
This is not the first time Minahil Malik has found herself in the midst of such controversy. Similar allegations involving leaked videos went viral in the past, after which she briefly withdrew from social media. Addressing the current situation, she stated that the video is fake and she no longer cares whether people like her or not.
On platforms like TikTok and Instagram, short clips or teaser versions of the alleged video are being uploaded. Users in the comments are seen asking for the full version, further fuelling the spread. The content, despite violating community standards on nudity, explicit material, and privacy, remains visible—raising serious concerns about the enforcement of platform policies.
Minahil Malik, who goes by @minahilmalik727 on TikTok and Instagram, has a following of 9.2 million on TikTok and 1.8 million on Instagram. She is also active on Snapchat as minahil_727.

More disturbingly, a troubling trend appears to be emerging where individuals in possession of such explicit videos begin by uploading teaser clips to attract attention. As the videos gain traction, they reportedly ask users for money in exchange for sharing the full content, turning the controversy into a form of exploitation.
There is currently no clear or effective mechanism in place to prevent the sharing of such sensitive material, especially in cases where it is unclear whether the content is real or AI-generated.
While platforms are quick to flag or remove benign content for minor violations, they seem to be struggling—or unwilling—to take swift action when it comes to potentially harmful and privacy-invading material.
The situation highlights a glaring inconsistency in how social media platforms implement their content policies, and raises broader concerns over digital safety, accountability, and the protection of individuals from online harassment and exploitation.
