Momina Iqbal breaks silence on gender identity claims

WEB DESK: Actress Momina Iqbal strongly reacting to a fake video circulating on social media, falsely claiming things about her gender identity, said there is no truth to such claims.

In a recent interview, Momina revealed that the viral clip was edited from an interview she gave in August 2022 and misrepresented in a misleading manner. The video has reportedly been viewed over 45 million times.

Momina said that after the video went viral, she started receiving calls from reporters and was left confused about how to respond. “Questioning a woman’s gender identity is deeply hurtful,” she said.

She added that many people advised her to issue a clarification, but she kept wondering whether such baseless things even deserved a response.

 “If what was being said about me were true, I would’ve accepted it. But when it’s all lies, why explain?” Momina questioned.

The actress said she initially avoided commenting on the video because she didn’t want to give importance to a false narrative.

It is worth mentioning that Momina Iqbal is a well-known face in the Pakistani drama industry and has played lead roles in several popular TV serials.
