Netflix’s Bridgerton renewed for two-part third season

Netflix renews Bridgerton for third season

WEB DESK: Netflix on Wednesday confirmed the renewal of the acclaimed adaptation of Julia Quinn’s “Bridgerton” book series for a third season.

The forthcoming instalment of “Bridgerton” will be presented in two parts. The initial segment, consisting of four episodes, is slated for release on May 16, followed by the second part on June 13. This departure from the previous seasons’ simultaneous releases aligns with Netflix’s experimentation with a segmented release strategy for select series.

The upcoming season will delve into the romantic relationship between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, deviating from the original source material to explore their evolving dynamic.

A newly unveiled clip from the season offers a glimpse of a pivotal confrontation between Penelope and Colin, hinting at the development of their transition from friends to romantic partners.

The narrative will centre on Colin’s proposal to mentor Penelope in her quest to secure a husband, leading to unforeseen twists in their association.

While familiar faces from previous seasons are set to return, including Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan reprising their roles as Colin and Penelope, respectively, Phoebe Dynevor, who portrayed Daphne Bridgerton in Season 1, will not be making a return appearance for Season 3.

Bridgerton Season 3, produced by Shondaland, is under the direction of showrunner Jess Brownell, with Shonda Rhimes assuming executive producer duties alongside Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen.
