WEB DESK: Renowned morning show host Nida Yasir recently appeared on Tabish Hashmi’s show, where she accused Waqar Zaka, entrepreneur and TV personality, of attempting to sabotage her position as a morning show host.
Yasir claimed, “Waqar Zaka tried very hard to get me replaced. He ran a long campaign to sabotage my position,” expressing confusion about Zaka’s animosity towards her.
She detailed how their relationship was initially cordial when they worked at the same channel, but tensions arose after Zaka’s departure. Yasir alleged that Zaka sent emails to the channel’s management in an attempt to have her removed from the show.
In response to these allegations, Waqar Zaka dismissed Yasir’s claims. He addressed the accusations in a video posted on his X account, citing his busy schedule at Stanford University in California, USA, as the reason for the delayed response.
Zaka suggested that Yasir’s motive behind these accusations was to garner ratings and media attention.

Zaka recounted an incident from 2020 where Yasir allegedly mishandled a sensitive topic on her show, leading to public backlash.
According to Zaka, Yasir falsely claimed that her team had not invited the parents of a girl who had been murdered after sexual abuse but had approached the channel through Sarim Burney for “media support.” Zaka played a video in his response, featuring a supposed social activist visiting the deceased child’s home, contradicting Yasir’s version of events.
Furthermore, Zaka attempted to debunk Yasir’s claim that the FIR for the incident was registered only after the parents appeared on her show. He presented evidence suggesting that the report was filed the same day the girl disappeared, not when the show was aired.
Waqar Zaka asserted that Nida Yasir was upset with him over these counterclaims and revealed that he had even suggested to Salman Iqbal to replace Yasir as the morning show host.
