KARACHI: The glitz and glamour of the Hum Style Awards 2024, held recently in Karachi, were overshadowed by a wave of criticism aimed at some of Pakistan’s beloved celebrities.
The event, which typically celebrates style and elegance, took a controversial turn as several celebrities came under fire for their outfit choices.
Alizeh Shah, Hania Aamir, Aima Baig, Bilal Saeed and others’s are being criticized for their poor fashion sense, inappropriate outfits and styling, according to reviewit.pk.
Fans are not happy with actresses and other celebrities promoting the western culture through their modern dressing. Fans believe that choosing such bold dressing clearly shows that they are followers of western agenda and culture.
Social media users said that these celebrities are not taking any lessons from what is happening in Palestine recently; instead of showing solidarity to the Muslims, they have been conducting such Westernized shows.

Hania Aamir
Hania Aamir was spotted wearing a Keffiyeh-imprinted pink and black suit in order to show her support with Palestinians, however, her Keffiyeh suit ignited heavy criticism. Fans were of the view that wearing a Keffiyeh in this way is an insult:
Alizeh Shah
Alizeh Shah wore a black tunic. She paired it with a woolen warmer. Alizeh Shah made an entry in a “Cat Walk Style”. Her look and style of walk ignited severe public backlash.
Aima Baig
Aima Baig was spotted wearing a unique and funky Western outfit which was backless. Her dressing seemed to be inspired by the signature Met Gala looks. Many were comparing Aima Baig with a bat or ostrich just because of her dress. A few said that she had been wrapped in a towel. Many said that she had been making very bold choices while selecting her outfits.
Bilal Saeed
Bilal Saeed wore a Met Gala inspired black frock like outfit with Palestine written over it. Bilal Saeed was also showing solidarity with Palestinians, however, fans didn’t appreciate his look and said that he has copied a cheap Met Gala look.
As fans continue to voice their opinions on social media, it remains to be seen how Pakistani celebrities will navigate the delicate balance between artistic expression and cultural sensitivity in the future.
