Priyanka Chopra Jonas joins ceasefire plea, Rupi Kaur’s powerful call to ‘halt Gaza genocide’

WEB DESK: Global superstar Priyanka Chopra Jonas has joined the call for a ceasefire in the ongoing Gaza genocide.

Earlier, renowned figures such as Grammy-nominated singer Janelle Monae, Hollywood icon Richard Gere, comedian Hasan Minhaj, supermodel siblings Gigi and Bella Hadid also voiced their support for the ceasefire in the Gaza.

Meanwhile, in a notable development, poet Rupi Kaur has taken a stand, explaining her decision to decline an invitation to a Diwali event at the White House. Addressing queries on various news outlets, Kaur expressed her disappointment with the White House’s response, stating, “Everyone has their opinion, and that is her opinion,” as a dismissive and gaslighting reply to serious concerns.

Kaur highlighted  the need for accountability and criticised the lack of compassion from the Biden administration, especially in response to the question about the prospects of a Gaza ceasefire. She highlighted the impact on both Palestinian and Israeli lives, condemning collective punishment as a war crime that offers no humane solution.
