Hold on to your guts, horror fans. The Rage Virus is back with a vengeance, and it’s bigger, bloodier, and more brutal than ever!
Sony Pictures just dropped the explosive first trailer for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, the hotly anticipated second installment in Danny Boyle’s epic zombie resurrection trilogy. And if you thought part one was wild, you haven’t seen anything yet.

Ralph Fiennes returns as the haunted and mysterious Dr. Kelson, the loneliest man in post-apocalyptic England and, judging by the trailer, the man with the deadliest secrets. But he’s not alone. Towering over the chaos is Samson, a colossal infected nightmare played by MMA fighter Chi Lewis-Parry, whose monstrous presence teases an earth-shaking showdown.
This isn’t your typical undead shuffle. This is war.
THE BONE TEMPLE TURNS THE WORLD ON ITS HEAD
Directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman), The Bone Temple plunges deeper into the decayed world introduced in this summer’s surprise smash hit, 28 Years Later. With Danny Boyle and Alex Garland returning as producer and writer respectively, the sequel promises to crank the terror and the drama up to eleven.
Newcomers and fan-favorites return, including Alfie Williams as teenage survivor Spike, last seen walking away from safety and into a world of rage, ruin, and betrayal; Jack O’Connell as Jimmy Crystal, the terrifying grown-up version of Jimmy Jimmy, the bleach-blond hooligan turned warlord; Erin Kellyman and Robert Rhodes join the chaos, as survivors turn on each other in a society where humanity might just be worse than the infected; And yes, Cillian Murphy is still involved, not on screen (yet…), but pulling strings behind the scenes as an executive producer.
BETRAYALS, BEASTS, AND THE BONE TEMPLE
The trailer teases Spike’s descent into madness as his alliance with Jimmy Crystal unravels. “Nightmare” doesn’t begin to cover it – think Mad Max meets 28 Weeks Later, with hints of something much darker lurking inside the so-called “Bone Temple.” Is it a place? A myth? Or a new strain of terror?
Meanwhile, Dr Kelson’s cryptic new “relationship” has fans speculating wildly. Who, or what, is he in league with? And can anyone stop Samson before he brings the remnants of civilization crashing down?
“In The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival. The inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.”
APOCALYPSE. AGAIN.
Originally kickstarted with the now-legendary 28 Days Later in 2002, the franchise has risen from the grave in 2025 with 28 Years Later, and fans couldn’t get enough. With box office numbers through the roof, Danny Boyle is charging ahead with part two, and you better believe part three is already on the way.
