The nostalgic trip began with the duo reminiscing about their early collaboration on a telefilm project at the National College of Arts. As the pair meandered through Lahore, they shared anecdotes about their professional journey, including a telefilm shot in the “picturesque hills” of Abbottabad. Surprisingly, Saba confessed, “I had a big crush on you (Ahsan) back then,” revealing a hidden chapter from their on-screen camaraderie.
The conversation took a turn towards Saba’s early days in the industry, with Ahsan praising her exceptional confidence. Saba credited Ahsan for a pivotal piece of advice he gave her before their joint performance at the Hum Awards in 2015.
“If fate has brought you to this position where they are watching you from the seats below, then you must have something that you are on the stage,” Ahsan had told her, a moment that proved transformative for Saba.
The discussion delved into their mutual enthusiasm for work and Saba’s commitment to punctuality. Ahsan humorously revealed the stress he feels when signing a project with Saba, as she consistently arrives on set before him.
Reflecting on their fifteen-year-long friendship, the duo discussed the passage of time, with Saba expressing gratitude that their faces still look “decent [for our age].” Ahsan praised Saba’s self-development efforts, emphasising that true beauty comes from within.
Amidst the laughter and shared memories, they also light-heartedly poked fun at Ahsan’s viral 2017 interview snippet, where he referred to himself as a “British-Asian actor.”
The conversation turned profound as Saba shared her philosophy on love, emphasising the importance of unconditional love without expectations of reciprocity.
She also touched upon her movie Kamli, challenging the notion that serious content doesn’t resonate with audiences. Saba revealed her future plans, including a move abroad and enrolling in movie school to pursue her dream of direction.
In a candid moment, Saba Qama reflected on her childhood dreams, stating, “When I was a kid, I would say and think big. I always think big.”
As the sun set on their journey, the two actors concluded the drive with a blend of nostalgia, laughter, and a glimpse into Saba’s ambitious future plans.
