Serena Williams and Ann Lowe: Fashion and family legacy

WEB DESK: TriStar Pictures is set to produce a biopic titled “The Dress” centering on the life of Ann Lowe, with tennis legend Serena Williams backing the movie.

Ann Lowe was a pioneering fashion designer and the first African American woman to own a boutique on the elite Madison Avenue.

Besides Serene Williams involvement, the biopic is also supported by Ruth Carter, an Oscar-winning costume designer.

The biopic will focus on Ann Lowe’s career, following the highs and lows. The movie will cover the wedding gown worn by the former US First Lady Jackie Kennedy on her wedding to the former US president John F Kennedy.

The movie’s screenplay was written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster. It is based on the book “By Her Own Design” by Piper Huguley.

Meanwhile, Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit and husband of Serene Williams, also made news for his parenting moments with the couple’s elder daughter.

The millionaire went viral across internet when an image showing how he made a pancake in the form of ballerina for his daughter. Ohanian said the shape was inspired by his daughter’s love for ballet.

He shared the post on his social media handle, where he stated how his mother’s encouragement of his artistic talents has influenced his parenting choices.

The Reddit co-founder went in detail about how his mother nurtured his passion for drawing which now translates into his interactions with his daughter.

The Serene Williams-Alexis Ohaian family is also making waves in the sports world. Along with their daughter, the wealthy couple co-owns a prominent women’s football club: Angel City FC.

Interestingly, their elder daughter is also a co-owner of the football club, becoming the youngest person in the world to own a club.
