Shehzad Roy calls out doctors, urges for compassionate patient care

ISLAMABAD: Renowned musician, singer and activist Shehzad Roy has taken to social media to express his concerns about the treatment patients receive from doctors.

In a recent post on his X account, Roy called for greater accountability in how healthcare professionals interact with those seeking their assistance. The Buri Baat Hai singer emphasised the importance of doctors being mindful of their words and tone when dealing with patients.

“We need to hold doctors accountable for how they speak to their patients. I’ve heard so many stories about how even renowned doctors humiliate their patients,” Roy wrote.

Roy also stressed the significance of kindness in the medical field, suggesting that a compassionate word can be more effective than any prescription. He stated, “Docs, please remember that a kind word sometimes goes much further than any pill you can prescribe.”

It is pertinent to note that Shehzad Roy has been an advocate for healthcare issues in the past. As a Goodwill ambassador, the Mukhra singer has championed family planning initiatives and education.

He has also pushed for an online course aimed at raising awareness and empowering youth aged 15 to 29 to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
