Singer Jawad Ahmed manhandles LESCO staff

LAHORE: Singer Jawad Ahmed reportedly assaulted Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) staff after reports of electricity theft at his wife’s beauty parlour.

According to LESCO officials, during an inspection of singer Jawad Ahmed’s wife’s beauty parlour in Johar Town, it was discovered that the meter was tampered with and one of its phases was deactivated.

LESCO’s Enforcement and Technical team reported that Jawad Ahmed arrived at the scene in anger during the inspection. He allegedly forcefully took the meter from LESCO staff.

Reports claim that Jawad Ahmed assaulted meter readers Asghar and Shahid during the incident and then fled with the meter and his wife. LESCO staff have forwarded reports of the tampered meter to senior officials.

XEN Johar Town, Ahmad Faraz, also reached the site. A complaint has been filed at Nawab Town Police Station against singer Jawad Ahmed for assaulting staff and electricity theft.

LESCO officials allege that Jawad Ahmed himself removed the meter, and electricity to the premises is currently disconnected.

Officials stated that electricity will be restored after legal action is completed.
