Sonya Hussyn-Affan Waheed pair up for Pakistani nuclear scientist biopic

KARACHI:  The talented duo Sonya Hussyn and Affan Waheed have been roped in for an upcoming biographical movie Rafi – The Untold Story.

Hussyn took to her social media to share the poster of the movie. She wrote: “Yet another milestone. Presenting the first look of my next movie ‘Rafi’”.

Directed by Kamran Faiq, the highly anticipated movie is based on the life of Dr. Rafi Muhammad Chaudhry, a Pakistani nuclear physicist and professor of particle physics at Government College University.

According to the media reports, the movie will portray journey of Dr. Rafi during the tumultuous 1940s, showcasing how the scientist carved his niche amidst chaos and uncertainty.

Born on July 1, 1903, Dr. Rafi played a pivotal role in the establishment of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons research program in the 1970s, earning him the title “the true father of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program.”

The announcement has left fans excited as they await the chance to witness the emotional depth and captivating performances of Waheed and Hussyn in the extraordinary journey into the past.

Meanwhile, no official statement details have been released by the director and the makers of the movie.
