NEW YORK: Pakistani musician Talal Qureshi has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by gracing the iconic Times Square billboard.
According to media reports, Spotify’s dedicated week-long promotion of Talal’s latest work, ‘TURBO,’ commenced on October 6, gaining early attention with a feature at Spain’s FC Barcelona Stadium.
Following a captivating display on the LED screens at Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys, Talal’s extended showcase in the heart of New York City underscores Spotify’s commitment to globally promoting local musical talent.
Renowned for his adept fusion of classical Pakistani music and contemporary electronic elements, Talal’s recognition by Spotify has enabled him to share his distinctive sound with a worldwide audience.

The album ‘TURBO’ expertly blends Eastern and Western musical influences, serving as a cultural bridge, and features collaborations with accomplished artists such as Zaw Ali, Zahoor, Blal Bloch, Natasha Noorani, and Maanu.
Meanwhile, the accolade adds Talal’s name to a list of Pakistani musicians previously featured in the prominent Times Square location.
Esteemed figures like Sanam Marvi, Tina Sani, Nazia Hassan, and Hadiqa Kiani, considered pioneers in Pakistani music, have graced the billboards. Recent additions to this prestigious roster include Arooj Aftab, Aima Baig, Natasha Noorani, Natasha Humera Ejaz, Momina Mustehsan, and Hassan Raheem. Additionally, the youthful faces of Coke Studio sensations Eva Baloch and Shae Gill have adorned the towering billboard in New York.
