WEB DESK: Robert Pattison’s The Batman sequel was postponed yet again, this time due to writer’s block, the DC Studios co-chief, James Gunn, dropped the news on Friday.
The Batman sequel now has a tentative release date of October 1, 2027, replacing its previously scheduled date of October 2, 2026.

Gunn has attributed the delay to director, Matt Reeves’ ‘thorough’ pursuit of the ‘ideal script’.
Since its announcement in 2022, the eagerly awaited sequel to Reeves’ 2022 movie has suffered in development hell. Gunn explained that the ‘sole’ reason for the postponement was the lack of a “completed” script.
He expressed a little uncertainty, saying “Matt is dedicated to crafting the best film possible, and it’s impossible to predict how long the wiring process will take”.
Filming for the Batman sequel is expected to start at the end of 2025, with the DC Studios co-chief mentioning that once the script was finalised, the entire process – per-production, shooting and post-production – would take about two years!
