The Voice 2024: Season 26 launch and new features

WEB DESK: The much-awaited season 26 of the singing competition “The Voice” 2024 is scheduled to debut on the NBC network on Monday.

However, fans of the show should be aware that there will no episodes on Tuesdays until October, as the programming has been modified to accommodate the US Vice Presidential debate.

As The Voice 2024 season 26 progresses, the show will take a break for the US presidential election results.

The latest season of the reality singing show has added new features to the Blind Auditions segment, with each coach now having the ability to utilise a block feature.

This will allow them to prevent another coach from selecting a specific artist.

As is typical for seasons that air this time of the year, the Blind Auditions segment will wrap up with a “Top 56” list. This will feature 14 artists per team.

Newcomers Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé will join thee returning coaches Reba McEntie and Gwen Stefani, with Carson Daly once again serving as the host.

An important addition this season is that of Coach Replay button, which will give the coaches a second chance to turn for a contestant if they initially miss the opportunity during the performance.

After the Blind Audition, the “Battles” segment will begin, where two team members will face off against each other for a chance to progress to the ‘Knockouts”.

Each coach will have two “steals” available, and this round will conclude with nine contestants per team, resulting in a total of 36 artists remaining.

The Knockouts will feature teams of three competing in a three-way format, where each singer performs a solo for their coach, who will then select a winner.

Singers not chosen  can be ‘stolen’ by other coaches, and each coach has the option to save one contestant.

A “mega-mentor”, whose identity has yet to be revealed, will assist the coaches in preparing their teams for this round. This will ultimately kickoff the Top 20 round that will then advance to the “Playoffs”.

In the Playoffs. the Top 20 contestants will perform for a chance to enter the live sows, with each coach allowed to advance only two artists. This round will not include any saves or steals, and each coach will be supported by a “celebrity mentor”.
