LOS ANGELES: Actor Tom Holland has temporarily stepped away from filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day after sustaining a mild concussion during a stunt sequence, according to a report by Variety Magazine.

The 28-year-old star, who has portrayed the beloved Marvel superhero since 2016, is expected to resume filming within a few days. Sources close to the production say the injury is not serious, and Holland is currently resting on medical advice as a precautionary measure.

Filming was briefly paused as producers from Sony and Marvel Studios met to discuss adjustments to the shooting schedule. Insiders confirm that the minor delay will not affect the film’s planned release date of July 31, 2026.

Spider Man: Brand New Day production began in early August in Glasgow, with the first behind-the-scenes footage surfacing last month. In a Sony-released video, Holland expressed his excitement about returning to the role for a fourth installment.

“It’s day one, my fourth ever day one on Spider-Man,” Holland said. “It feels different this time, somehow. We’ve even got fans on set, which is a first. I just hope to get it right. No pressure.”

Despite the on-set incident, Holland made a public appearance shortly afterward at a charity event for The Brothers Trust, his family-run foundation, where he appeared to be in good spirits and reassured fans about his recovery.

The upcoming film boasts a star-studded cast, including returning favorites Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Michael Mando. Newcomers to the Marvel Cinematic Universe include Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Notably, Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, and Jon Bernthal reprises his role as the Punisher.

Fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the production remains on track, and Holland is expected to return next week to continue swinging back into action.
