WEB DESK: Warner Bros Games officially released MultiVersus on Tuesday, much to the delight of fans across various franchises ecstatic about the diverse roster of characters the game has to offer.

The game was officially announced in November 2021, with early access and open beta versions running from July 2022 to June 2023. It was then formally launched on Tuesday.
The gameplay in MultiVersus centers on platform fighting, with players engaging in battles on different stages, aiming to knock opponents beyond the stage’s boundary by inflicting damage. The game focuses on team battles featuring two-character teams, with most attacks tailored for cooperative play.
The game uses two types of money: Gold and Gleamium. Gold buys characters and boosts, while Gleamium, a fancier currency, gets you cosmetic items and special season passes.
MultiVersus has a season pass setup with both free and premium options. Players can unlock rewards by finishing missions.
MultiVersus includes 27 playable characters from Warner Bros properties, grouped into four classes: Assassin, Bruiser, Mage, and Tank. It offers a diverse roster, featuring well-known characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and Black Adam from DC Universe.
It also includes characters from various franchises such as Looney Tunes, Game of Thrones, Scooby-Doo, Steven Universe, and more.
MultiVersus’ maps draw inspiration from beloved 90s animated series: Dexter’s Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls.
The game underwent a closed alpha test and had dedicated servers, as well as a special kind of networking called rollback netcode. The rollback netcode helps reduce lag in online play, making the game smoother. The developers consistently updated the game with new content, including the addition of new characters on a regular basis.
