Wednesday 2 to feature ‘Addams Family’ members

WEB DESK: The famous series Wednesday will return with season 2 soon with new addition of cast members to the Addams Family.

According to media reports, the speculation was made by the cast members during Wednesday’s Season 2 teaser announcement.

According to The Direct, the revelation transpired in June 2023 at Netflix’s TUDUM event when leading star Jenna Ortega, who played the titular role, along with fellow cast members, deliberated on potential addition to the second season’s ensemble, especially focusing on missing  Addams family members.

Ortega expressed her desire for the inclusion of Cousin Itt while Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, and Hunter Doohan advocated for Grandmama’s involvement in Season 2.

Possible Additions for Season 2

Cousin Itt

Cousin Itt, known for floor-length blonde hair and unique gibberish speech, was first introduced in the 1964 Addams Family TV series as Gomez Addams’ cousin and a frequent visitor to the Addams household.

If Cousin Itt appears in Season 2, there’s potential for a side story involving Thing. There’s also speculation about Gomez sending Cousin Itt to Nevermore Academy to support Wednesday after Season 1’s events.

A Season 1 hint about Cousin Itt was seen in a portrait in the Nightshades’ secret society basement. It’s possible Cousin Itt played a role in the society’s creation, which could explain the Season 2 appearance.

Grandmama (Eudora Addams)

Another possible addition to Season 2 of Wednesday’s show is Grandmama. She’s Pugsley and Wednesday’s grandmother, and she’s shown as an old witch who makes potions and does magic. Since Grandmama has been part of other Addams family movies and shows, she might have been there even if not shown in Season 1.

At the end of Season 1, it seemed like Wednesday was going back home, which could be a chance to show how Grandmama interacts with Jenna Ortega’s character. The person in charge of the show mentioned in November 2022 that Wednesday and Morticia’s relationship is really important. In Season 2, they might use flashbacks to show more about their relationship, like they did with young Gomez and Morticia in Season 1.

Pubert Addams

Introduced in the 1992 Addams Family movie, Pubert Addams is the youngest brother of Wednesday and Pugsley.

In the movie, the brother and sister went on a special mission because they were jealous and wanted to get rid of Pubert. In Season 1, there was no hint that Wednesday and Pugsley had a younger brother. So, Season 2 might show a story where Morticia is going to have a baby or even show the baby being born, like in the first episode.

Having Pubert in the story could show more about the Addams family and make us understand their personalities better, especially Jenna Ortega’s character, Wednesday.

By considering these potential additions, Wednesday’s Season 2 has the opportunity to expand the Addams family’s complexity while delving into their relationships and histories.
