Zayn Malik postpones US tour after Liam Payne’s death

Zayn Malik has postponed the US leg of his upcoming tour after the tragic death of his former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne, BBC reported.

Payne died at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina.

Malik was set to begin the tour next week, with a concert in San Francisco. In a heartfelt message to fans, Malik expressed his sorrow, stating, “Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the Stairway to the Sky Tour.” The rescheduled dates will take place in January, with tickets remaining valid for the new dates.

In a post on Instagram, Malik paid tribute to Payne, “I lost a brother when you left us… what I’d give to just give you a hug one last time.”

Payne’s family is also mourning; his sister, Ruth, described him as her “best friend” and expressed her anguish in an emotional Instagram post.

Meanwhile, tributes for Payne have been gathering outside the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires, where his father, Geoff, was seen paying his respects.

As fans in the UK held vigils in memory of Payne, Malik’s UK tour dates remain unchanged, scheduled from November 20 to December 4.
