10 injured in Peshawar cylinder explosion

PESHAWAR: At least 10 people were injured in a gas cylinder explosion in a hotel in Peshawar, police said on Saturday.

According to initial reports, the cylinder blast occurred inside a hotel’s kitchen near the Khyber Teaching Hospital.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud explosion, followed by thick smoke billowing from the building.

Rescue 1122 teams and police rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to Khyber Teaching Hospital for medical aid.

Hospital sources confirmed that some victims suffered severe burn injuries, while others sustained minor wounds.

Authorities have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the incident. Initial findings suggest that a gas leak may have caused the explosion.

SNGPL officials have urged hotel and restaurant owners to ensure proper safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
