10 killed, 12 injured in rain-related tragedies in KP

PESHAWAR (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disasters Management Authority (PDMA) said on Sunday that heavy rain and hailstorms over the past two days have resulted in the loss of 10 lives and left 12 others injured across the province.
The casualties, as per the report, include eight children and two women among the deceased, while the injured comprised nine children, two women, and one man.
The report details that 27 houses suffered damage due to collapsed walls and roofs in various districts. Among them, three houses were completely destroyed, and 24 were partially damaged, the PDMA confirmed.
In Shangla, the rain claimed four lives and injured three others, with two houses partially damaged. Similarly, in Bannu, one house was partially damaged, while in Bajaur, a woman and a child lost their lives, and two were injured, with three houses sustaining partial damage.

Peshawar reported injuries to three individuals, along with partial damage to a house, while in Nowshera, three people were injured, and several houses suffered partial damage.
Tragic incidents also occurred in Mansehra, where one woman lost her life, and three houses were partially damaged, and in Mohmand, Mardan, and North Waziristan, multiple houses faced damages.
Additionally, eleven cattle perished in Swat due to the recent rains.
The PDMA has initiated relief efforts, assisting affected districts including Peshawar, Nowshera, Bajaur, Shangla, Mansehra, Bannu, Mohmand, Mardan, and North Waziristan.
Relief materials have been distributed to victims in Nowshera, Bajaur, Mohmand, and other affected areas, the PDMA said.
