11 family members killed in DI Khan road accident

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Atleast 11 people have been killed and three injured in a traffic accident at Danasar, in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), rescue officials said.

According to details, a Mazda vehicle carrying members of the same family was travelling from Khanozai, Balochistan, to Dera Ismail Khan.

The accident occurred due to brake failure of the vehicle, according to the Rescue spokesperson.

On receiving information, the Rescue 1122 Dera Ismail Khan team promptly reached the spot and responded.

A total of 11 people lost their lives in the accident. Of them, seven were shifted by Rescue 1122, while four were taken to the hospital by locals. The deceased included five women, one child, and one man.

Three injured persons were given first aid on the spot who were identified as Darya Khan (27), Yousaf (10) and Ahmed (25). The injured were than shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, Dera Ismail Khan.

The deceased belonged to the same family, rescue sources confirmed.

District Emergency Officer Engineer Fasihullah expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, prayed for the departed souls, and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
