16 dead in truck accident near Jamshoro

JAMSHORO: At least 16 people, including women and children, have died in a tragic accident near Jamshoro on Tuesday afternoon.
Rescue officials said the truck carrying labourers from Dureji, Balochistan, to Badin fell into a ravine, killing nine people on the spot, while eight more succumbed to their injuries later. Among the dead are four children and six women.
SSP Zafar Siddiq Jhanga said the crash occurred due to brake failure. The victims belonged to Rajo Khani village in Badin.
The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad, where three remain in critical condition.
CM SINDH SEEKS REPORT
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed sorrow over the tragedy and sought a full report from the Hyderabad Commissioner.
He directed authorities to transport the bodies to their native villages and ensure proper medical care for the injured.
The victims were from the working class and had travelled to Dureji for seasonal wheat harvesting.
