16 dead in two accidents of pilgrims buses in Sindh

KARACHI: At least 16 people lost their lives, and dozens were injured in two separate accidents involving buses carrying pilgrims in Sindh areas of Nawabshah and Khairpur.

According to police, the first accident occurred near Futuhal Zardari village on Amri Road, Nawabshah, where a van carrying pilgrims collided with a trailer.

As a result of the crash, six people were killed and ten injured. The injured were immediately shifted to a hospital. The pilgrims were reportedly travelling for the Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

Public holiday declared on February 19

In another tragic incident, a passenger coach overturned on the National Highway near Ranipur, Khairpur, killing ten people and injuring 30 others.

Rescue officials reported that seven of the injured are in critical condition. The ill-fated bus was travelling from Punjab to Sehwan Sharif.
