17 labourers from KP will perform Hajj for free this year

PESHAWAR: The Workers Welfare Board of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released the annual performance report of employees. The board has also announced that 17 workers working in different industries of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will perform Hajj for free this year.
The cost of Hajj, at Rs18.79 million, will be paid by the government, the report showed.
The report details the expenditure and grants over the past one year, showing Rs627.5 million released for higher education of 1,578 children of workers, Rs131 million released for 341 cases of laborers’ marriage grant, and Rs30 million released for 44 cases of laborers’ death grant.

The report also shows 21,587 students enrolled in Working Folks Grammar Schools in the year 2024-25, the report showed. More than Rs191.7 million released for books, uniforms and transport for schools for the year 2024-25, Labour Department report shows.
The board’s report also documented the matriculation exams of Working Folks School results at 94 per cent. Out of 1,220 students, 1,141 were successful. Moreover, 445 out of 464 students succeeded in the Inter exams.
