23 passengers shot dead in Musakhel

QUETTA: Atleast 23 passengers were shot dead after being pulled off trucks and buses at a checkpoint near Rara Sham in Musakhel district of Balochistan.
The incident occurred on the interprovincial highway, where armed assailants set up a roadblock and carried out the brutal attack.
The attackers targeted trucks and buses on an inter-provincial highway near Rarah Sham, according to Musakhail’s police chief, Ayub Achakzai.
According to SSP Achakazai the assailants stopped trucks and buses, forced passengers off, and then opened fire, killing all of them.

All victims are reported to be from different parts of Punjab.
The assailants also set fire to over 10 vehicles before fleeing the scene.
A heavy police contingent and levies officials responded, transporting the bodies to a nearby hospital.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the attack.
PRESIDENT, PM CONDEMN TERRORIST ATTACK
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a passenger bus in Musakhel area of Balochistan.
Expressing grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the despicable incident, they prayed for the departed souls and condoled with the bereaved families.
President Asif Ali Zardari said the brutal killing of innocent people is the killing of the entire humanity. He said the terrorists are the enemies of Pakistan and humanity.
The President said those involved in the killing of innocent people must be brought to justice.
The Prime Minister directed the local administration to provide full cooperation to the bereaved families and provide immediate medical aid to the injured.
The Prime Minister directed the law enforcement agencies to immediately investigate the incident. The terrorists responsible for this incident will be severely punished.
Shehbaz Sharif said any kind of terrorism is not acceptable in the country.
Both the President and the Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eradicate the menace of terrorism.
MOHSIN NAQVI CONDEMNS INCIDENT
Federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, strongly condemned the horrific terrorist attack of 23 passengers being shot dead in Musakhel in the strongest terms and expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the families of those killed in the cowardly act of the terrorists.
The Federal Interior Minister said that the terrorists targeted innocent people near Musakhel, demonstrating their cruelty and reaching the pinnacle of brutality.
He said that the terrorists and their facilitators will not escape a tragic end. Every segment of society has made unwavering sacrifices alongside the security forces in the war against terrorism.
CM BAOCHISTAN CONDEMNS
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti strongly condemned the attack, expressing heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.
Bugti stated that the terrorists had targeted innocent people and vowed that neither the attackers nor their facilitators would escape justice.
He assured that the government would relentlessly pursue those responsible.
