30 terrorists killed in South Waziristan operation: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed 30 terrorists of banned Fitna Al Khawarij during an intelligence-based operation in South Waziristan district, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the intelligence based operation was conducted on Monday in general area Sararogha, South Waziristan district on reported presence of Khawarij.

“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khawarij location, as a result of which, thirty khawarij were sent to hell,” the statement read.

ISPR further said sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Khawarji found in the area “as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.”

Earlier on on February 6, security forces killed an Afghan national involved in terrorism inside Pakistan during an operation in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan.

According to the military’s media wing, the individual was identified as Luqman Khan, also known as Nusrat, son of Kamal Khan, a resident of Spera district in Khost province, Afghanistan.

A total of three terrorists belonging to Fita Al Khawarij were killed during the operation.

“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khawarij location as a result of which three khawarij were sent to hell, who were trying to escape wearing women attire (burqa),” the statement added.

According to ISPR, Pakistan had contacted the interim Afghan government to take custody of Luqman Khan’s body, as he was an Afghan citizen.

“Such incidents provide irrefutable evidence of Afghan nationals’ involvement in terrorism inside Pakistan. The interim Afghan government is expected to fulfill its obligations and prevent the use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan,” the statement added.
