57 shops, six restaurants sealed for defying SOPs

LAHORE: Fifty-seven shops and six restaurants have been sealed in Lahore for violating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of closing down their businesses by 10:00 pm

According to the district administration, 24 shops were sealed in Tehsil Allama Iqbal Town, 10 in City Town, three in Model Town, two in Tehsil Ravi, 10 in Wagha Zone, four in Tehsil Shalimar, and two in Nishtar Zone.

While six restaurants have also been sealed in different localities of Lahore for operating their businesses beyond 10:00 pm.

After the mitigation of smog, the Punjab government retracted from its earlier order of closing the shops and restaurants till 8:00 pm and allowed them to open till 10:00 pm.

However, home delivery and pickup services were exempted from this ban.
