8 terrorists killed in two separate districts during intelligence operations: ISPR

TANK/KHYBER DISTRICT: At least eight terrorists were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBO) in Tank and Khyber districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated on Monday.

According to a press release by the military’s media wing, the army conducted an IBO based on reports of terrorist activity in Khyber district. “Security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in Khyber district, on reported presence of terrorists,” the statement read.

The press release outlined the events of the intelligence operation, including the elimination of multiple terrorists. “During the conduct of operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists, as a result of which four terrorists were sent to hell, including ringleader Qari Wajid @Qari Baryal and terrorist ringleader Razziq”, the press release stated.

The statement went on to state how the “terrorists’ hideout was also busted during the operation and a large cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives was recovered”.

The press release ended with how the local residents were grateful to the army for “wiping out” terrorism plaguing their region. “Locals of the area appreciated the operation. Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country”.

Similarity, the military carried out another intelligence-based operation on the eve of Monday morning in Tank district. The press release stated that “security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in Tank district on reported presence of terrorists”.

The statement detailed how security officers fought the terrorists before eliminating four of them. “Own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location as a result of which four terrorists were sent to hell. These terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area”.

Meanwhile, arms were discovered and confiscated from the terrorists’ possession. “Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from them”.

The press release further stated that the “locals of the area appreciated the operation by the Security Forces, who remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country”.
