95 new COVID cases reported in Pakistan last week

ISLAMABAD: Health officials in Pakistan have announced that 95 new coronavirus cases were reported across the country during the past week.

According to data released by the National Institute of Health (NIH), the case positivity ratio stands at 1.15 percent, with one patient in critical condition.

During the same period, one COVID-19 related death was reported in Lahore, with a total of 8,285 Covid-19 tests conducted nationwide.

Additionally, the Ministry for National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination confirmed that the government has enhanced the role of Border and Health Services to combat potential sub-variants of Covid-19 in Pakistan.

A comprehensive surveillance system has been implemented at all entry points, including airports, where rapid tests and passenger screenings are being carried out.

Furthermore, it was noted that 90 percent of the country’s population has already received the Covid-19 vaccine.
