Accomplice in death row murder case injured in Lahore shooting

LAHORE: In a firing incident in Lahore’s Islampura Ganga Street area, an individual named Aamir Tamba suffered injuries and was swiftly transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Upon receiving the report, a substantial deployment of law enforcement officers from the Lahore Police rushed to the scene. Swiftly cordoning off the area, the police initiated a meticulous search for the assailants.

Of particular note, Amir Tanban had recently been released from Kot Lakhpat Jail. While the law enforcement agencies are investigating the motive behind the attack, it is of note that Tamba is one of the accused in the 2013 fatal attack on Indian death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh in Kot Lakhpat jail.

The Lahore District and Sessions Court had acquitted Tamba and co-accused Mudassar, both on death row in Kot Lakhpat Jail, of all charges in December 2018.
