ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has unveiled plans to develop a modern Adventure City Park in Islamabad, aimed at providing new recreational options for families and boosting tourism in the federal capital.
The decision was made during a meeting at CDA Headquarters on Friday, chaired by Federal Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha. CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, along with the Member Environment and other senior officials, also attended the session.
Officials said the proposed park would be developed at a suitable location in the city and is expected to become a major attraction for both residents and visitors. The facility will feature pedestrian walkways, cycling tracks, and eco-friendly landscaping, alongside a variety of recreational and tourism-focused amenities.
According to the CDA, the project will be designed in line with international tourism and leisure standards. It will house a mix of local and international food outlets, cultural and social activity zones, and family-friendly attractions, all within a single space.
To support environmental sustainability, a sewage treatment plant will be set up as part of the development. The authority also plans to adopt financial and operational models to ensure the park’s long-term viability.
Chairman Randhawa said the initiative reflects CDA’s commitment to improving Islamabad’s natural landscape and promoting it as a tourist destination. “We aim to make Islamabad one of the most beautiful and tourist-friendly capitals in the world,” he said.
