RAWALPINDI: Despite being warned of serious consequences, the Afghan Taliban with the support of TTP — Fitna al-Khawarij — on Tuesday yet again resorted to unprovoked firing across the border in Kurram, a move that produced a lethal response from the Pakistani armed forces.
Security sources said the retaliatory fire destroyed multiple Afghan Taliban posts as well as tanks, killing several of them. There are reports that one of them was an important TTP [Khawarij] commander.
Multiple footages proved the claims, which shows fire and smoke raising from their posts, forcing them to flee their positions while leaving behind the bodies of their associates.
By the time HUM News updated this report at 11:45pm, the armed forces had so far destroyed four tank positions of the Afghan Taliban. One of these was the Shamshad post.

A THREAT TO PEACE AND SECURITY
Meanwhile, the latest aggression again shows the real objectives of the Afghan Taliban who are housing a plethora of terrorist groups in Afghanistan, ranging from the TTP and ETIM to Al Qaeda and Daesh.
Last month, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on the sidelines of UN General Assembly expressed serious concerns over different terrorists groups operating from Afghanistan, warning that they posed “a grave threat to regional and international peace and security”.
