Afghan terrorist killed in North Waziristan Operation: ISPR

DI Khan

PESHAWAR: Security forces killed an Afghan national involved in terrorism inside Pakistan during an operation in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan on February 6, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

The individual was identified as Luqman Khan, also known as Nusrat, son of Kamal Khan, a resident of Spera district in Khost province, Afghanistan.

Pakistan has contacted the interim Afghan government to take custody of his body, as he was an Afghan citizen, the ISPR statement said.

“Such incidents provide irrefutable evidence of Afghan nationals’ involvement in terrorism inside Pakistan. The interim Afghan government is expected to fulfill its obligations and prevent the use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan,” the statement added.

Pakistan has repeatedly urged Afghan authorities to stop militant groups from using Afghan territory to launch attacks, a key point of tension between the two neighbours.
